Current Florida Legal Tint Limits (2026 Standards – Florida Statutes §§ 316.2951–316.2957)

For Passenger Vehicles (e.g., Sedans, Coupes):

Windshield: Non-reflective tint allowed only above the AS-1 line (top ~5-6 inches); no encroachment on driver's view.
Front Side Windows: Minimum 28% VLT.
Back Side Windows & Rear Window: Minimum 15% VLT.

For Multipurpose Vehicles (e.g., SUVs, Vans, Trucks):

Windshield: Same as above.
Front Side Windows: Minimum 28% VLT.
Back Side Windows & Rear Window: Minimum 6% VLT (if compliant with other rules).

Additional Requirements:

Reflectivity: Front side ≤25%; rear/back ≤35%.
Colors: No red, amber, blue, or colors impairing visibility.
Side Mirrors: Dual required if rear window tinted.
Compliance Sticker: Required on driver's door jamb.
Medical Exemptions: Available for qualifying conditions (e.g., lupus) with physician certification and state approval.
